Ethos & Values

Living our values every time we open the gates at the Bleachgreen.

Cricket with purpose

Ardmore Cricket Club is built on volunteer energy, respect for the game, and the belief that the Bleachgreen belongs to the whole community. The ethos outlined here ensures every decision — from selection meetings to youth coaching — reflects those principles.

We want players, families, and visitors to feel welcome, safe, and proud to represent Ardmore at every level. The behaviours described below guide how we train, compete, and celebrate success together.

Our commitments

These are the standards we hold ourselves to, on and off the square.

  • Player development balances ambition with wellbeing and long-term love for cricket.
  • Coaches provide constructive feedback, celebrate effort, and keep learning fun.
  • Volunteers communicate openly so members understand how and why decisions are made.
  • Visitors, officials, and opponents are greeted with genuine hospitality.

Code of conduct

Every squad follows the same clear expectations.

  • Respect match officials at all times.
  • Support teammates and keep language positive.
  • Look after club facilities and equipment.
  • Report safeguarding or wellbeing concerns straight away.

Our three club pillars

Cricket

The reason the club exists. Upholding the spirit of the game. Displaying sportmanship and respecting the opposition and officals. Passing on the passion for the game to our junior players.

Connection

We understand the important role that sport has for our physical and mental health. Our desire is to turn individuals into a shared, connected team. We recognise that everyone's role within the club is vital and connected.

Community

We value our role within the community and want to create a place where people feel a shared sense of purpose. We wish to extend our community beyond the boundary rope.

Support structures

Safeguarding, wellbeing, and governance are woven into every activity.

  • Designated safeguarding officers
  • First aid kits and qualifed coaches.
  • Education sessions keep volunteers up to date with NWCU and Cricket Ireland guidance.
